Brookwood School District 167 is an elementary district serving students in Glenwood and parts of Chicago Heights, Holbrook, Lynwood, Lansing, and rural Cook County. The District employs approximately 165 staff members who provide a rich academic program and positive learning environment for approximately 1200 students. The District is organized under the Illinois School Code for the purpose of providing public education through the eighth grade to persons who reside within the District’s boundaries. Total budgeted expenditures for all funds of the District, for the fiscal year ending June 30, 2010 are $15,294,746.
The District has an Administrative and Diagnostic Center and four attendance centers: Brookwood Junior High School (grades 7-8), Brookwood Middle School (grades 5-6), Hickory Bend Elementary School (grades K-4), and Longwood Elementary School (PreK-4). The majority of graduates attend either Bloom Township High School in Chicago Heights or Homewood-Flossmoor High School in Flossmoor.
